hi my tibetan terrier is now 13 months old how soon should i get her hipscored ?

i was going to wait till after christmas but i think i will get it done as soon as possible

It can be scored from 12 months onwards.

Some say that if you wait until they are older it gives a truer reading as the scores can be higher say at 2 than at 1.  So I always choose to do my bitches and dogs near 1.

If its a bitch you are scoring, make sure she has not just had a season.  They say to wait half way between seasons before scoring as the ligaments etc, can often go out of shape a bit. Did I say that right!!  Oh well, do you know what I mean. They say the score is better half way between.

I have had a mixture of scores, some bitches I have scored near 2 and others scored at 1.  I have had scores anything from 1 to 13 from these ages.

I did both my girls at 5 years of age and they both came into season 3 weeks after.  One was 4 months overdue and the other one not due for another month and a half!

Both scored 10 in total, one 5/5 and the other 4/6!
