Alfie is 8months in a few days and tonight when I took the babys upstairs for bath and bedtime I left him with the run of down stairs, normally I shut him in his crate or kitchen but as he is really starting to behave with the chewing and jumping up on the sofas and I have stopped crating him overnight as oh away for 8weeks and I feels more at ease if Alfie can get to the kitchen door as there as been a spate of break-ins, (he did his job well last monday night somebody was in the back garden and they cut the lock on our outhouse and Alfie was going mad a 1 in the morning, think he scared them of as they didn take anything!) Anyway back to earlier I was upstairs about 30minutes and when I came down for evening bottles he had weed on the hall carpet, was so shocked, Alfie knew what he had done and was hiding, he does wee some times after a bath of when I've flead him as if to say didnt like that mum, do you think that was it or is he starting to mark his home, hes cocking everywhere and we have a bitch in season near our house and he keeps trying to get out.  he went through this when he was about 4/5 months and we reverted back to toilet trips every 20/30mins and used ihs toilet word, clicked and treated, this took about a month to stop his weeing in the house as he kept weeing where he could smell it.  A dog behavorist said that at 5months Alfie was maturing early as he started cocking then, he stoped it for a while and started again 2weeks ago, he has all the classic signs of adolesence too.  (give me some strength please!!)
So what do you think, do I have a dirty dog or a naughty teenager full of hormones!!
Ps, its not because hes dim, far from it hes a tibetian terrier x border collie and hes too clever for me!!

My money would be on adolescence, so long as any medical reasons had been eliminated.  Clean up fully, using bio washing powder and spray with surgical or white spirit when the area is dry again.
