Whatever dog clubs you belong to, do you travel far in order to go to them? Is it out of necessity (hope spelling correct) because nothing is near you, or out of choice?
I am wondering whether to go to a Club just 15 minutes away, but don't know much about it, or one that was recommended that is 40 minutes away!
Any advice appreciated.

We go to one about 30 mins away because we know it is good for us. There are others close by but they dont suit or dog types as well.
I would contact the one near to you. Ask them how they run their classes and what their lessons contain. Also what is their training method. It might be clicker training for example which you may or not want to do.
Most of the ones I have been to, invite you along, don't charge you and let you have a sample week to see if your happy with it. See if it's for you, if not you can always travel further to the other one.
i travel 10 mins to one club, but for another hobby i do with my dog i travel over an hour away, this trainer was reccomend to me and i now see why i have seen the diference in the way i am now running my dog i feel more confident in myself and my dogs abilities all due to the new club i am going to,
sometimes the closest may not be the best for you, you may want to go and have a look at both clubs without your dog first and talk to people at the clubs, see what you think after that.

I go to several. My clicker club is about 10 minutes down the road, which is handy. I think its the best around here personally. I go to one agility/flyball club 30 minutes away and another agility class just over an hour away. I started going to the far away one as they worked with problem dogs, but carried on going so that we could have one to one lessons. THey are definately worth the journey.
