hello can some one give me a bit of advise regarding my two girls,last year i had to have my two shih tzu put to sleep they were 14 years old and both developed heart problems, being without any animals was unbearale so i went out and bought 2 more of the same breed,i have a problem ,it being that they are fighting a lot is it because i bought them into the home together, i dont know what to do about it can you help me.

I think you'll find that it's sibling rivalry and one is trying to dominate the other!! That's why it's generally not done to take 2 pups out of the same litter! They also tend to have a pack instinct and ignore the human! Treat one of them as top dog, whichever appears to be the most dominant, feed her tid bits first etc. I'm sure others will provide sound advise too, all the best, Dawn.

Sadly this is one of the main reasons for not getting two pups together especially the same sex. 

Unfortunately if they are now fighting this is only likely to get worse, so the only thing you can do is to manage the situation or rehome one of them.  Never leave them together unsupervised, avoid any areas for conflict, such as excitement, food and petting.  You may even ahve to keep them completely apart, though with luck you can just watch carefeully and step in before things escalate.
