I'm thinking of getting a wirehaired vizsla puppy but don't have any experience of the breed (used to spaniels) and hope you can help!

I understand from what I've read that the breed is generally friendly, affectionate and easy to train which are my main requirements.  However, I've also heard they are destructive if left alone.  I work from home so the dog wouldn't be on its own all the time but I will need to go to meetings etc and will sometimes be away for half a day.  Please share any information or experience which will help me decide whether this is the right breed.  (NB Also looking at the Nova Scotia Duck Toller)

Many thanks

If you have had Spanial`s`........you will cope with  Vizsla`s............I know a lot of smooth coated.....(have a couple of friends who breed them)........ I think I am right in saying the wire haired is a little more laid back in his attitude than the smooth.......... both are lovely dogs, they need the expected amount of exersice you would expect in a gundog............ they are very much a People dog who love to be included in family life.......they will but they dont like to live outside........... they are also very sensitve dogs.....dont take harsh handling........I think once trained and having their minds and bodies exersiced you will be able to leave them indorre for a short time a day.........good luck in your seach .........

I do know (not personally) one very good wire haired breeder.....very excentric lady who loves her dogs................so why not join and PM me , and I my be able to help!
