I'm thinking of getting a wirehaired vizsla puppy but don't have any experience of the breed (used to spaniels) and hope you can help!

I understand from what I've read that the breed is generally friendly, affectionate and easy to train which are my main requirements.  However, I've also heard they are destructive if left alone.  I work from home so the dog wouldn't be on its own all the time but I will need to go to meetings etc and will sometimes be away for half a day.  Please share any information or experience which will help me decide whether this is the right breed.  (NB Also looking at the Nova Scotia Duck Toller)

Many thanks
Trudy
