Are there any hunters who have grown foxhounds for sale?  (18mo - 5years old) Must be hunting already.

Please respond to us at riawest78@hotmail.com

(Trinidad & Tabago)

Hunts never sell their hounds - they only exchange with other hunts.

I was offered a foxhound about 7 yrs ago that had been with my friend on her farm 'to grow up'.
The hunt decided that Dorcas wouldn't become a 'hunt hound' and when my friend asked if i could have her I was told that if she was 'definitely' unsuitable at 9 months then I could have her. Unfortunately she got off the land accidently at around 6 months and was run over. I have another friend who has one from the hunt round here and he's now about 10yrs old. They are very difficult to come by tho'. It's not what you know it's who you know. With the new laws on hunting there are a few out there but it's finding them.

Guest, i suggest you contact the MFHA who may be able to put you in touch with a hunt willing to draft abroad. We recently drafted 3 couple to ireland so it can be done but you need to speak to the MFHA & ask for their advice.

We drafted five couple to Portugal earlier this year.  However, now - just before the opening meet - may not be the best time to be looking.  Would suggest leaving it more until towards the end of the season.
