Hi, we are thinking about getting a Cocker spaniel(Engish or American)and wondered if anybody knew what they were like with people with allergies. My husband has mild allergies to cats(we have only mixed with a couple of friends dogs(terriers)) and he seemed ok with them. So we just want to try to rule out dogs that are known to be particulary bad for allergy sufferers.

Allergies can be a bit of a personal thing ie a certain breed that affects one person may not effect another. How about contacting the breed club and see if there are any owners/breeders in your area that you could meet with (with hubby of course) and then you will see if he gets a reaction. :)
