Hi all.
Not posted for a while, as we have been getting on great with Cassie, our SBT pup (now coming up to a year!!)
She is very receptive to new things, learns quickly (especially where treats are involved!).
Soon we have a new arrival to the house, a new couch !!! We have been teaching cassie to not eat her chews on the couch, which is fine, but she will stuill scratch, paw, "dig" the soaf. We constantly pull her off, place her on floor, and treat for not doing it, but she contiunes...............any tips to save my new couch ?

Do you think you might have inadvertently taught her to scratch the sofa first before putting her on the floor and giving her a treat?
If you are "constantly" pulling her off and placing her on the floor, it sounds as though she has learned that:
scratch sofa = getting treat on floor.
Might it be worth trying treating her on the floor BEFORE she gets up on sofa.
However if you do allow her on the couch which is fine and you don't want her to "make a bed" which is natural, perhaps you could come to a compromise and put a cover on it for her. Extinguishing hard wired behaviour such as making a bed comfy is pretty hard work.........
