Hi All, quextion from a totally worried owner:
My dog has been a little lethergic for a few weeks, I heard that this (among other symptoms) may indicate heart problems, so off to vet with my boy (he's nearly 12, so "not such a" puppy dog). Okay, it gets complicated from here: he has a heart problem - treat with Lanitrop. He also has a lung problem - probably inhaled something (his food?! He NEVER chews it...) treat with Bisolvon. He Also has high levels of white blood cells, indication - stomach problem - treat with Synulox, to start with also Phenopret (Bute equivalent, stopped four days ago, due to symptoms getting worse). All of these are unrelated, just all came at once, two also not age-related (heart probably).
HOWEVER, since he started his treatment he has gone really swiftly downhill. He throws up after eating, after drinking, after moving. It's now been over a week since he got quite ill and he only got worse after treatment, to start with he was just a bit listless, and the vets are flummoxed. I've just collected him after three days at the vet and he's just the same. To my mind absolutely no improvement whatsoever, of course, I trusted them and took him home and now he's just lying around doing nothing and cannot climb the stairs.
He has lost 2 kilos - he only weighed 18 before - it's drastic, just skin and bones.
One point to mention - he may be 12 years old, but until now, he was top fit and happy, it seems that he's been getting worse with the drugs, not better.
Has anyone any idea whether any of the above mentioned drugs can cause vomitting and listlessness? I'm at my wits' end and he's such a sad pup. I'm so worried about him I don't know what to do.
Any / all ideas very much appreciated.

Hi rachel
what breed of dog is he ?
12yrs is a good age for some
breeds, it may be just old age
and all that old age brings.
maybe he is on too much medication
and its too much for his system.
dont have any solutions but it's just
a suggestion :-)
Hope all works out well for you and your boy.
