I would like to have another dog but, being single and short of available cash with which to buy a puppy from a bone-fide breeder, I would consider 'rescuing' a young dog from a centre if there is one relatively close to me that deals only with Golden Retrievers.

Please be warned that the golden retriever rescue is VERY quiet at the moment{which is great news} and that most young dogs that come in are males and alot of them will have some degree in problems.
I have had people on my list for a young goldie bitch for 18 months now and are still waiting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Depending on your circumstances depends on whether you will get one as the rescue has to be VERY strict.
