Hi there, My wife and I live in Ireland and last year we adopted a male Weimaraner who was given up at 5-6months. All is going well but we would love to take on another as company for Monty. It is very rare that Weimaraners come up for adoption over here which is why I am turning to the UK. I understand that this is a very difficult, if not impossible situation given the difficulty in carrying out house inspections etc. Is there anybody there that I could discuss this with.? Is it possible to make contact or is there an existing relationship with our local animal rescue centres to get them to do an inspection?
My wife grew up with the breed and I am well aquainted with them having enjoyed Monty's company over the past year. Ideally we are looking for a younger male (Monty is 17months)

Thanks for any help or advice you can give. My email address is pab_lowe@hotmail.com

If you get in touch with Weimaraner Club of Great Britain on the net, they have a rescue arm as does IWRSS, you may find it useful to contact your local pounds as quite often there are a number in Irish Rescue homes that are brought over to the UK.

Rescue do not generally recommend having two males together, especially if they may be close in age, and may well recommend a female.

Also they take time to match up the right dog with the right home to reduce the risk of bouncing.

Best of luck
