Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Westie puppy with the runs

Hi all
Our 13 week old West Highland Terrier pup Jack has had the runs, in varying degrees, sometimes ok, recently getting worse. We were feeding him Burns mini-bites with a teaspoon of Brandy wet food mixed in.
I rang the Vets yesterday cos things were really, er, liquid and he gave me a bag of Hill's Science Prescription I. D. to try for 3 days. He says if no improvement then to bring him in. I'm really worried as he's so little.
He's in good form and as energetic as ever - could it be some sort of stomach bug?
Any help greatly appreciated.

It could be he's picking up something in the garden (its what pups do best ;) ) or it could be the wet food,  what was the breeder feeding him on? is it the same as you?  swapping over too quickly can cause runs too ;)  another thing that can cause it is feeding too much ;) I always find that a teaspoon or two of Bio Yoghurt on their meals helps enormously and settles them right down ;)
