Yesterday was my birthday and on visiting my parents' my Mum said

" I'm sure you never get any older, you have never seemed any different to me, you've always been old even when you were a teenager!"

I'm sure she meant it to be a compliment :D but she could have worded it differently!

:D :D :D You obviously reached a certain age in your mums eyes........and stayed there :P

That is an advantage. I've had a very rough year and was looking back at some photos yesterday that were only taken last year........my god.....I've aged 10 yrs in 1  So count yourself lucky ;)

Happy Birthday for yesterday :)

Never mind me turning into my mum, I think my OH is turning into both my parents!!!  He recently bought a coat my dad wore in 1974 and has started listening to Terry Wogan on Radio 2.  Whatever next!!!  The daily mail and yoga?????? :D

And yes, my mum always leaves me wondering whether she's being nice or nasty!  Double EEeeek.

LOL Trouble is I am now starting to wonder if I leave people in the same state as my mum does? How can you tell if what you say is being taken as an insult when ment as a complement or vice versa?? On the clothes - dont worry my OH is still wearing clothes that he bought in the early 80s - guess they will be back in fashion soon

Ah but my OH can't fit into the 80's stuff!!  Come to think of it, neither can I :(  Just keep Michael Parkinson away from me - that would be too much ;)

Trouble is my OH can still fit in to his old clothes and tells me off for throwing out perfectly wearable clothes just 'cos they dont fit. In discussion last night apparently i underestimated the age of his clothes. The oldest were bought in 1976 and are a denim jacket and DMs (whihc have been resoled several times). He still wears both on occaision

My son wears the shirts that my husband wore in the 70s. It's very fashionable again!
