Sorry the link didn't work you will have to cut and paste
Buy some liver, simmer in pan for about 15-20 minutes. Drain and cut up into small cubes (using scissors is easy). Grease an oven sheet and sprinkle liver cubes over, then dry in a very cool oven - about 1-2 hours. Store in jar or tin, they keep well as long as they're well dried. My 3 will do ANYTHING for one.

Have you tried putting a bit of garlic in the pan to simmer, or rub garlic paste onto the liver befor putting it in the oven. it STINKS the kitchen but they go mental for it. It sounds very crunchy so if you treat in a class all the rest stand there saying 'ok where is my piece'
Chris
ps if its dried properly it will go thru a wash cycle in jeans pocket and come out in one piece!!!

I make some variation of these regularly and freeze keep what I will not use in a week in the freezer.
Couple of cups of ground rice or rice flour.
Couple of large jars of meat and veg baby or junior food. Or just meat, or just veg. Any variety without onions.
Optional:Jar or two of meat paste, if your dog is not allergic to wheat (it has rusk, I avoid any with onion, which are most).
Optional:Instead of the baby food or meat paste you can add mushed canned fish or any finely chopped or blended leftover meat/veg.
Couple of beaten eggs.
Enough broth or water to make a slightly sticky dough.
Chill until firm(er). Pat out on the kitchen counter to the thickness you prefer and cut into shapes like you would for people biscuits. Bake at about 170-180 until lightly browned on the bottom.

Not sure that I would call all of them particually healthy, especially those with pre made stock cubes as they will be high in salt, but I bet they all rank as tasty :D

fao tatty-ead,
not sure if you are aware, but you shouldn't give dogs anything with Garlic (or onions) as they can both cause anaemia. Don't mean to sound off but didn't want your doggies to feel poorly!! will add a link for you to look at. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1935&articleid=2414

Em garlic is fine and healthy for dogs in small quantities :) My dogs get garlic regularly,it's good for their blood and skin and helps to keep fleas at bay. As you said onions are a no-no,but garlic is fine :)
We have never had any problem with garlic and mine get a fair amount of it. However it is very effective at keeping fleas and ticks away. I would agree about onions, although again I personally think that the sight is a bit over the top, making it sound as if even contact with onions will constitue an emergency. Mine do get a little onion if they have some gravy from a stew or similar and again it has done them no harm.
Personally I am far more concerned about the level of artificial preservatives, chemicals, salt and sugar in most comercial pet foods, which to my mind are responsible for a lot of things like diabetes in our pets.
