We have 2 westies bailey the older one loves being cuddled gives you kisses etc always has been like this now we have got another puppy but he is so different he wags his tail lets you stroke him but not for very long he is only interested in bailey i know not all dogs like to be cuddled but it is strange he also gets very jealous when bailey is being stroked and nips at him is this just the puppy stage?  it seems he couldn't care less if we were there or not unless we are feeding him.

Don't worry, I found this to some degree with our young shepherd pup, he only had eyes for our other dog. I think it's fairly inevitable, but you need to do things with him separately - training, walking on his own sometimes (when he can go outside). Play and fuss with him when your other dog is out on his own (if there are two of you). I'm finding that our boy is beginning to love us too! We don't do this all the time, but several times a week. Maybe a separate walk to the park, then a separate road walk, puppy class one evening, and my other dog does agility on a Sunday, so we have that time alone together too.
The nipping is more likely to be wanting to get Bailey's attention rather than him giving his attention to you I suspect.
I have found that I have needed to put a lot more effort in, especially as the older dog is only nearly three, so is up for a game with him most of the time!
Good luck
Kat
