I need a few tips on adult handling, I very stupidly entered it "for a laugh" at Windsor Gundog this coming Wednesday  I entered adult handling at a companion show on Sunday and got a 3rd (there were only three proper show people in the ring :( ) I completely screwed up the " T " (well I had never done one before) the judge explained afterwards that I didnt do it exact (eg. 6 paces accross, 12 paces back etc) he also said I should have gone in the direction his feet were pointing in  :p

Ive done junior handling years ago but dont recall ever doing "patterns". Also, when you are moving the dog and the judge changes position do you cross over in front of the dog or behind ?  Is there any decent websites I could look at ?

Hiya claire.  PM me the judges name and I might be able to help you more...also who was the judge at the companion show, sounds like his out of fashion now anyway :)

You could try getting some tips from http://www.juniorhandling.co.uk

The best tip is to have fun :) although adult handling is becoming more serious it is still more fun then not :)

Could you also explain more detail in what you mean when judge changes position?  when and where are you talking about?

If you wish to then e-mail me roxanne@roanjora.co.uk

One adult handler can merge into all the juniors who e-mail me!
