Just thought I had to post and say thanks to all who have answered my posts on my ckcs coat probs. Molly now has a lovely coat again and I didn't have to take her to the groomers. Also reading your posts has inspired me to take my youngest to obedience classes with a veiw to maybe showing her as she is soooo cute. Thanks

And if any cav onwers who show have any tips on showing or opinions on agilty I'd like to hear them.

I know someoe who does really well in the obedience with her Cav.  They are such happy sparkling little dogs.  I did obedience with one of my Pomeranians and Im going to do some with my mum's latest to try and calm her down a bit :d  Good luck with your dogs.

There was a lovely Cavalier(blenheim)working at the show I was judging at last weekend, not in my class as he's a dog & I was judging a bitch class

If you want to show & do obedience then my advice is don't do a sit at halts but a stand for showing. Once your puppy has got the stand sorted then you can start teaching the sit, doing the sit first will mean she thinks you want her to sit when you stand still in the breed ring I always do the stand first with my show dogs & then the sit later. It means I have a good stand for the showring

I agree MM, though even after 3 years my stupid training club grumble about my Cavs not sitting after heelwork. We only do pet obedience and they seem unable to cope with the idea that as long the dog comes to a halt, and sits when I do tell him to, I don't care how straight the sit is, and I don't care if he knows any 'finish', let alone teaching both types of 'finish'! Aargh! :-)
