Hi, does anyone know of a breeder who still breeds the bigger collies ? A lot of the collie dogs i have seen look almost the same size as the bitches. Thanks.

Try here http://www.wizardscastle.lu/collie-breeder/brooklynson/

Thankyou very much , will give them a try .

You're welcome.

Rough Collie dogs should be between 22"-24" at the shoulder.  Bitches should be 20"-22", so a big dog could be as much as 4" taller than a small bitch.

God, that site brings back memories.  Remember going to Derek Smith's with my mum many, many years ago to mate a dog :d

The Clickhams used to be nice. ;)

Thanks val, i can now ask that when i contact breeders. and will look at clickhams too.
- By Val [gb] Date 01.10.05 07:34 UTC
steven, Clickham is in partnership with Brooklynson now.  You'll see that they are different to most other Rough Collies in this country because a lot of their stock is imported.

Hi there, just looked at the rough collies you suggested, they are lovely . Thank you very much .

I have 4 collies and my oldest one lassie is coming up to 10 which is quite worrying as well.I also have 2 pups who are rough collies but collies are said to live up to about 14 so no worries yet.
