My husband and I have always had dogs as children, both our families are dog lovers and so naturally we have both always wanted dog of our own. Unfortunately, due to house prices being as they are, we have never had a large enough or suitable home to have one. Last year we finally moved into our new home which is large and spacious and we are finally settled one year on! As a child my partner had a bermese mountain dog and a blue great dane with pointed ears. He would love to have another dane as he was very fond of him. Can anyone recommend where we may find a pup of this description? It may be a dog or a bitch, but must be blue with pointed ears and fully health checked of course. We would be very grateful for any help as we can give a dog a very good home.

Thank you

Sian

If you are in the UK you will be unable to have a Dane with upright ears.  Ear cropping is illegal in the UK.

Unbelieveable!  take a beautiful creature and cut off parts of its ears to improve it :( :( :(

Steady on Dill!!  Of course ear cropping his abhorent but this poster said that this dog was owned when her partner was a child.  They might not know that it's not usual for a dane to have pointy ears and of course it might not have been a pure dane, but a cross and this could have been a long time ago.  The poster didn't ask for a cropped dane pup, just one with pointy ears.  Lets discuss and inform first of all.

It could also be that the partner grew up abroad (or they may not even be in the UK now!) where cropped ears were the norm.
