How do puppy behavioral dynamics within the litter translate into how they will act outside the litter environment ?
Thanks di.

Sometimes. I think it depends on how they are treated when they leave the litter. I know one pup who was the brightest and cheekiest in her litter but who was trained by methods that were too regimental and became a quiet, rather worried dog until she went to another home.

It also depends on how long they stay in the litter. Normally I home my puppies at 12 weeks and none of them seem to change personailty from what I saw in the litter. However I did home one hand reared litter at 8 weeks because they had no mum to learn from. I was quite worried about one of them as she had become shy and I would only let her go to people who were experienced and understood my concern. Within days she had recovered her nerve and in fact had become a little hellion. So I presume that she was just going through a phase.
