It seems like puppy madness at the vets at the moment, I was in on Monday with a rat and a mouse - there was a GSD up, a spaniel pup (in a cat carrier, for some reason) and a weim pup.  Then today there was another GSD. Craziness!  and all making me pup broody, of course :D

All the new owners seemed quite clued in from what I heard of their conversations (I'm not nosy, I was waiting for 40 mins and got bored!!) - except one.  The owners of the weim pup, I glanced their way at the gorgeous little bundle - must've been 7 or 8 weeks, brand spanking new :) - they were talking to another woman, when I heard them say "well, they're supposed to be a gundog or something, apparently." eek!  Now I may be overreacting, but it worries me when someone has bought a dog like a weim without even knowing their purpose, so to speak - a lab or a spaniel would be one thing, but something so intense?  Oh dear.  Perhaps I'm being pessimistic? I hope so!

Hi Nikkita when i go the vets there's nothing i love more than listening to people having conversations about there pets and i am nosy, ha ha ha.  Except when i was in the vets last week i felt abit insulted by a man and woman who said my bully was a great dane the wife then the man turned around and said she has a boxers head and a labardors body, he he.  Had to laugh though they really didn't have a clue.  I dont blame you the poor weim probably wont last with them that long when they realise how intense as you said they are.

Eek indeed, poor little puppy. LOL Susan - I remember the first show my dad went to and he pointed at a Harlequin Great Dane and said 'what a big Dalmatian!' I hastily shushed him and banned him from making any comments out loud every again! :-D

I remember once I got asked my a kid if he could stroke my greyhound - that being my fawn dobe Remy :) I said he wasn't a grey, he asked if he could stroke my great dane... then I told him what remy was.  Then he asked to stroke my lab, Opi, who's a rott X GSD!  Remy's been mistaken for a great dane, greyhound, pointer, lab, weim (the usual mistake), bedlington (???!?), lab (again, ???!?) and rhodesian ridgeback so far, oh and a visla too!

2 elderly ladies were discussing my dog and eventually one of them said 'my son breeds those but I haven't seen one that colour before'  I told her that was strange because although you can get b/w the majority are liver/w.  After another minute or two of discussion it turned out her son bred dalmations and I have GSP

LOL! Everyone thinks my Cavs are King Charles cos they don't realise there's a difference between the breeds. But only 2 people have ever guessed what my poor Yankee is - he's either a large ruby Cavalier (he's buff), or a crossbred Cavalier or Cocker, or once a Clumber!!
