Yesterday my dobe cut his foot.  I cleaned it and wrapped it up, but every time he got up it started bleeding again.  I rang the vet and they said to take him and they would have a look.  The cut was very deep and needed 3 stitches, it is actually at the side of the pad.  They said to keep him quiet, but it is impossible he is 19 months old.  The other problem is keeping it dry, this morning I covered it with a nappy sack, the other thing I thought of is cling film.  Any other suggestions for when he goes into the garden, as we are expecting rain today.  The bandage has to be changed after 5 days and it stays on for 10.

I think you should try something like Cling film wrapped round the whole bandage, it should keep it dry if you put enough on, or like you say a little nappy sack but with tape round it to secure it on as they don't stay on tied.

My bitch has had loads of problems with her paws, I have used sandwich bags / nappy sacks to cover the foot before but if you wanted something more secure you can purchase the following fairly cheap:

Good to have any way I think esp if your dog likes to go in all the bushes etc where you can't see, one of my old bitches once sliced her foot open on a milk bottle that was smashed in a bush

Have you got a crate you could put him in for a while?  My girl jsut did this to her stop pad yesterday, loads of blood, quite a mess.  She's also a complete lunatic, so I'm having the same trouble you are - I'm keeping an eye on her in the garden, and a flexi on her on walks!
