My computer at home is not allowing me into my Tesco account.  When I go to start up and go on the internet, the name and password are missing and it won't allow me to type in my name!!!

I presume that this is due to a virus as it was working OK the other day.  I do have a virus checker which has blocked a number of viruses recently.  Is this the reason and how can I put my user name in again as it just comes up blank and doesn't allow me to type anything?

does your virus checker download updates automatically and are you on dial up or broadband?

If you don't subscribe to anti-virus updates then you may well have caught a new virus that your virus checker can't recognise.  Can you access other programmes on your computer?

You could try downloading AVG anti-virus which is a free download and updated daily and see if it picks up stuff that your anti-virus isn't picking up.

Have you tried going out of the Tescos programme and re-entering?  Sorry so many questions

Yeah I'm forever downloading the updates, so I don't think there's a problem there.  I can get onto the internet with my old supanet account, that's still up and running and then I get onto the Tesco net page, but I can't dial up on my tesco.net account as the details are no longer there when I want to sign inQ

Oh and I'm on dial up and not broadband.

I'm not having any other problems at the moment with other programs.

Could it be the Tesco site then?

Mine had a virus that everytime I tried to access a programme it disappeared from my computer - very scary.  Even Word disappeared.  But this doesn't appear to be your problem so a bit baffled

have you tried re-loading the software for tesco net?
if you have had a virus it might have corrupted a file or two..  you may have a new virus that has got past anti virus programme ( not unheard of ) and some are on a time delay, where by it could take 2 or 3 days of using a programme before the virus releases its terror :)

go to Start>Control Panel>Internet Options
Click the connections tab along the top and highlight your tesco connection then click settings.
This will then open another window at the bottom of which you should be able to enter your username and password. Make sure you click apply before closing the windows.

It may also be worth calling tesco's customer services to check that the number being used to dial up is the correct number (unless you already know what number should be being used) as some viruses will change this and you can end up with some very large phone bills

HTH :)
