Topic Dog Boards / Showing / How to display rosette's?
- By bertbeagle [gb] Date 26.09.05 13:05 UTC
Hi everyone,

I'd really like to display some of Bert's rosettes. Over the past 2 years he has accumulated a draw full of them and I'm feeling like a really bad Mum :( by not putting any on display but I'm not sure what to put them on????

I'd quite like to put them in some sort frame but not sure how to mount them...................?

Any ideas, how do you other champs display your dogs achievements??? :)

I have them pinned to cork boards.

Hello i have a cork board with about five pieces of thick string going across from side to side from nails nailed into the back ,so i can either hook over the string or attach the pin to it, so that i dont get holes in my rosette's, and ,if i win more i can move them easy to make a nice coloured display.

I hang mine on strings in the way you might christmass cards.  Using the pins to attach them to the cord.

I use pin boards, and cork tiles across the beam.
For his special ones he's got this year BPIB etc I have bought a deep frame from Ikea and arranged them with the cards inside and hung it next to his pedigree and a picture of him. Something to look back on.

I used to display any rosette but I'm getting a bit pickier now as its amazing how many I have accumulated in about 14 months of showing :D I have all the 1st, 2nd, 3rds etc safely stored away on a box as I can't bear to get rid of any of them( esp. the first rosette Chloe ever got which was a 3rd out of 3 LOL and the one I bought at Darlo last year as it was her first champ show!) and the rest I have pinned around my Pedigree wallplanner...don't tell my parents but they are pinned straight into the wall with drawing pins!! I keep meaning to get a cork board for them....!

I also bought a cheap clip frame when he got his RBD at Paignton as I really wanted to display the card so I put all the 1st place cards in that, it makes a nice display and cost less than £5, and is easy to change around.

If you have lots of different coloured ones I bet you could make a really good display with them just using a cork board or something similiar then when you get board with it its easier to swap around, but I make sure mine isn't where the sun can get it because they will fade and rot which would be a shame.

HTH :)

Excellent!!! I'm going to get a cork board on the way home! I might even get two and put his best ones on one and make a collage type of thing with some of his others!!! Thanks guys, now I have to decide where I want to put them up so I can show them off!!!! I haven't got his pedigree in a frame either I'm going to do that to!
Thanks everyone :) :) :) :)

I stopped displaying my rosettes as a friend suggested they might be a draw for thieves, if they see them displayed on a wall. I am trying to get a small glass topped table made to put mine inside, so they can be seen but not immediately.

I take mine into school and use them as rewards for the kids I teach - I stick on a digital photo of the child and cut off any 'tails' that say Best puppy or Best Bitch ! - LOL I then manke new tails from card saying things like 'Best Reader' 'good manners' etc. Also use the red, blue yellow etc for sports day. the kids love them ( and so do the parents !! :D)

My Cav boy's rosettes are on a large cork board, pinned up in rows. It's quite an impressive display, but I'm not allowed to put it up on the lounge, it's hidden in the utility room, along with his ShCM certificate, hmph. I've recently been forced to take the 4th and 5th place ones down as the 1st and BOBs are crowding the board out! My Yankee's rosettes (all last places except his Good Citizen ones :-D ) are in a folder, as are the puppy's. Hopefully she will accumulate enough to be worthy of a board of her own one day :-D
