Hi

My dog was on Rymadil for a year for his arthiritis and was fine but the vet decided we should try some other drugs,  he tried metacam but that was too hard to get him to take it.  they then prescribed Predoleucotropin , he was on this for 3 days and he then bacame very sick.  He was sick 10 times in one day!!.  I stopped the tablets and took him to the vet.  The vet seemed to think that these tablets dont normally cause this but ive read other comments that it can!!!.    My dog is never sick and its heart breaking to see him like this.   the vet gave him an injection to stop the sickness and calm him, but this knocked him for six and he is very lethargic now.  thank god he hasnt been sick again but he isnt eating yet and he hasnt eaten for nearly 2 days now.

Has anyone else experienced any problems with this drug and their dog???

I think this is commonly called PLT tablets?? My old bitch was on them for 3-4 yrs, they never gave her any trouble & certainly extended her life & its quality. Only thing was, I felt she was always a little drowsy on it (but she was pretty old by then anyway) She was finally PTS at 16. When her grand daughter developed arthritis, she was on metacam which I think was better, but I had no trouble getting her to take it as my dogs will eat anything! She was pts at 16 1/2yrs

The main side effect of PLT is being sick, I was told that should this happen the drug should stop being given immediately.
