Does anyone know if Beagles are used in the UK as sniffer dogs?

I have seen them in Auckland, Brisbane and LA airports as sniffer dogs to detect food but I have never seen a Beagle used in the UK.

I saw a Beagle in action at Auckland airport a couple of years ago and she found a women with Backpack on her back and to dog immediatley knew she had food and she just sat in front of her staring at her. The handler asked to see in her backpack and the Beagle dived in and the handler pulled out an apple! I was so impressed, I think the lady with the apple was taken away and may have been fined!

A girl I work with said she was at Lords recently watching the Cricket and she saw a sniffer dog that was a Beagle. Has anyone ever seen one here?

Cheers :)
