Following recent death of my bitch at 18 yrs old (I had her since she was 8 wks old) I am seeking a bitch puppy to lavish love on.  She would be with me every day with only one and a half hours on her own which she would be accompanied by my other dog (an extremely friendly lurcher, who like me misses the company of a lively, energetic bitch)

Why don't you join and then you can look on the Champdogs breeders list for Border Collies.

You don't have to join to search the Breeders List or, indeed, the Puppy List
Having found a breeder or litter you are interested in you may wish to check that they are a member of the Breed club who would also be another good source of information about breeders their details can be found at the bottom of this page

If you join and let me know what part of the country you are in, I can let you have the breed club  puppy co-ordinator for that area.

Sorry. I didn't mean you had to join to read the breeders list. I was thinking more of if you joined you can continue this thread and receive more information.
As Sandrah has said contact the regional clubs also. There are alot of excellent breeders of borders who don't advertise on here.
