I am just so thrilled he is so far such a laid back character but is only very just about paper trained so lots of work to do. He also smells very doggy any suggestions for wash products? Also this little chap looks very healthy eating and drinkingy well but the breeder told me to put some glucose in his water as she has always done this up until 6 months. He is on a complete puppy diet and looks rather fat really do they really need glucose??
I don't specialise in toy breeds, but I would have thought the 'empty' calories in glucose aren't really necessary so long as the dog is getting regular meals - I would have thought increasing the frequency of the meal while decreasing the amount would be the best way to combat this possibility nutritionally (Having had experience of caring for my hypoglycemic sister and father - you wouldn't give a human glucose as a matter of course, you'd adjust the diet and timing of meals, glucose or Mars bars were only there for emergencies when nothing else was available)
