My grandparents have offered to buy me a puppy for my 21st birthday but I want to make sure I choose the right puppy. So far Ive looked into the Maltese which was my first choice but after researching them have decieded against one because of how much they cost and the lack of breeders in my area. Ive been looking and have now narrowed my choice down to either a Bichon Frise or Shih Tzu. I would like some advice on which one of these breeds mixes with other dogs better as we already have a 10 year old female pekingese.
Also I was wondering if i get a Bichon Frise can they be clipped so that they're heads and bodies arent so rounded?
Both are nice little dogs and generally get on with other dogs, so it's up to you. That cotton wool ball appearance of Bichons is just how they show them - my friend has a couple and he just has them clipped short one length all over.
