I have a 6 month old Yorkie, and my Vet has advised me that I can have her spayed from now
onwards. She quoted me a price of £130. Is this about the norm. does anyone know?

This seems a bit steep to me I had my collie spayed and it cost just under £100. It is supposed to go on weight and how much anesthetic is needed. Unless of course its more difficult in a toy breed? Maybe someone else can advise on that.Gillian

I think it depends where you are. It would cost at least that much around here. Do you want her spayed or are you being pushed into it by your vet? Personally I would leave it until she has had at least one season and is much more mature although some will not agree with me.
I don't think operations are much more difficult in toy breeds.

If smaller meant more difficult and therefor more cost, how much would it cost to do a queen cat? And I agree only spay your bitch if you want to, not because someone else does.

Should say I agree with others about getting her spayed only if thats what you want don't be pressurised.Gillian
