Topic Dog Boards / Health / Stroke? URGENT INFO NEEDED....
- By bsdmr2 [in] Date 13.09.05 09:15 UTC
Hi Everyone,

I recently put a post on here about my 6 month EBT who was chasing his tail. After going to the vets this morning, he thinks he has had a stroke, and they are referring us to the Cambridge university neurology dept so he can have scans and so on. Has anybody had a similar experiences? If so what was the outcome/treatment?

Any info/help would greatly be received, im so worried and upset i hope he will be ok.

Look forward to peoples replys.

Hi Debbie
Hope all goes well. I don't have personal experience of strokes in dogs, but a cat of mine had a stroke and she lived for another 11 years after that. Her head was always a bit tilted, but that was all. A friend of mine had a Labrador who had a stroke, the dog was elderly then, he recovered and lived for another few years too.

This might be of help. One of a late friend's Cardi Corgis had a stroke(many years ago)@ 11 & died 7 1/2 later aged 18 1/2 of sudden heart failure

An ear infection is actually much more likely in a young dog
