I understand hip scores should be low and equal eg  5. 7.  -12.  However would 4. 2. - 6 be ok. It's quite low, but one hip has double the score of the other!

Yes it would be fine. I always think that aslong as the higher side is no more than 1/2 the required total it is ok....for eg if the average breed score is 12 then aslong as one side is not more than 6 then that is ok

It also is better if the individual parts of the hip joint aren't more than two for example the norberg angle 4 the rest of the hip 0 is not as good as 4 different parts being 1 the side total is still 4 but no one part is high scoring- I hope that makes sense ;)

Yeah, that's not a bad score at all.  My Spanish girl has just come back with a hip score of 4-6, total 10.  I'm pleased with that, wish it was slightly lower but it's below the breed average so I can't complain :d
