Hi today whilst dishing my pups food out he jumped up to try to get it and landed wrong yelping in pain and now he cant seem to put his back leg on the floor i have pushed and prodded but he doesnt seem in pain now but still hopping around on 3 legs do you think he just sprained it or something?

Hi dont wish to alarm you but i had a puppy last year who was running round one minute in the garden the next yelping, i like you prodded and thought he may of just sprained it. knowing how 12wk old puppies like to have a good run around i left him in his basket for half hour. when i got him out he like yours was trying to hobble on three legs. I wasnt happy with him not putting down his hurt back leg so a trip to the vets to be on the safe side. grr he had broken his leg rather badly, but fortunatley the break was just above his growth knuckle.I would contact your vets and have him checked over just to make sure his leg is ok.
