My dog seems to stand lovely the whole time until the vital moment when the judge is looking over and then she seems to get bored of standing and just sits down.  She doesn't always do it but have you any suggestions for keeping her in stand position? Thanks.

If you stack your dog just put your hand under her tummy. If you free stand then I think you will have to do some more training at home. Start by standing her and when she sits just quietly move to the side, put your hand under her tummy, tell her to stand and gently push her back up. Praise her when she does stand properly. I had a bitch that would stand perfectly, would move for the judge, come back to the judge and sit down! Laughing all the time ;) I'm sure she knew what she was doing :)

You are changing your body position & she is responding.  Think what you are doing, and then try not to :-) Also keep your attention hand low not high

Why don't you not stand her till just before the judges comes to look at her!?

I was gonna say that Ice Queen - could this be because we both have restless Setters ? ;)

Count me in for restless dogs - I try to keep my Cav playing until just as the judge is turning to look - if I time it right I get him stood but still wagging - if I time it wrong I either get him still on his back legs, or stood like a stuffed dummy! :-D
