Hiya
Anyone know of anything i can try to boost charlies immune system/white blood cell count?
Some of you may remember charlie.... my staffie with Lymphoma. He's hitting a downward slope now and after a blood test the other day they said his white blood cells are to low to increase the chemotheraphy.

Any advice would be welcome :)

Echinacea angustifolio tincture is used in holistic treatments to boost the immune system, it's originally a plant used by native americans & has been used in the treatment of cancers, can be obtained online but must be Echinacea angustifolio tincture

Lots of info on the net about it

It certainly will not harm him & will boost his immune system

This will help you with the dosage

So why this warning:

"Do not use echinacea continuously for more than a few weeks"?

on this page: http://www.kochumianmd.com/herbs_vitamins/herbal_herbs_e_k.htm

and this: If used beyond 8 weeks, Echinacea could cause Hepatotoxicity (chemical-driven liver damage)?

Then there are other sites that say "there are no known side-effects with its use"...who's right?...who'd risk it?...they also say it's an immune system stimulant - that isn't the same as a booster, is it?
