Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Diahorrea and vomiting

We have been up most of the night with our bitch who has quite severe diahorrea and copious amounts of frothy vomiting. I would have suspected early labour but she is only 51/52 days. Apart from being tired she seems well and is asking for food, although I am loathed to give anything until her tummy settles. Her weight has dropped 8 oz overnight which for her is a lot as she is a small breed.
Has anyone had similar problems at this stage? I will ring the vets when they open, but there is nothing than other breeders advice at the moment.

any word from the vet?my bitch was like that at about day 33 the vet gave her a stomach lining jab , a anti-biotic jab,  and something else to settle her stomach. they all worked very well. she did nt have a temperature so the vet had ruled out an infection. i hope your dog feels better soon.

The Vet's not sure whats wrong ?infection but temp normal ?reaction to the goats milk that she has had. She gave her an antibiotic, anti emetic injection and a sachet of electrolyte as she is quite dehydrated and hopes that she improves by this evening to give her a light diet.
The pups appear to be okay, so fingers crossed. Thats the first scare over and the last I hope :-(

Any news Herbiedax? How is she?

Thanks for asking Missie, she's doing just fine. A couple of days on a light diet and now she's eating like a horse!!, what a relief. We hope that all will go smoothly over the next week. I doubt whether she will make her 63rd day as there is plenty of activity going on and she's pretty restless. We're all ready but hope nothing happens yet as she is just 55/56 days. Fingers crossed :-)
