When we got our baby girl she had this lump on top of her head she had been vet checked and everything but it seems to be getting bigger, its rock hard as if its part of the skull, never having a great dane before i didnt know if it is ment to be there or not!
I dont want to rush to vets if its ment to be there and look an idiot!!

Is it right at the top, in the middle at the back? If so, it's the occiput. (Number 14 in the picture.) Perfectly normal. See also here.

LOL Its only their little boney head! They grow into it, our retriever had it aswell when he was a pup! How old is your Dane? Mines 4 months! :)

LOL at myself i feel really stupid now!!

I had a friend of mine describe it as the hook to hang all that excess skin in Danes :-D
I think it's more prominent in some breeds than others. My Dane's one is still pretty prominent (he's 4.5 yrs old).
