Topic Dog Boards / General / Marks on puppies nose

2 weeks ago tomorrow I took my then 13 wk old GSD to puppy training classes, as we were leaving the next class (older dogs) were waiting outside. Just as we got through the door a small black dog bit my puppy on the nose, Kody really yelped and ran in the corner shaking. I was absolutely furious but didnt say too much as I was trying to calm Kody down.  It wasnt until I got home that I realised that his little nose was bleeding, but he was fine. However it did scab over, BUT since the scabs have come off he now has 4 pale pink marks on his nose - you can actually see where the teeth went in.  He has such a gorgeous face but these marks are really noticeable, will they turn black eventually or will they stay like this.  I am so mad.

the black pigment may be lost , in the winter my dogs noses turn pink but when summer comes along they seem to darken. I've never heard of this though but i'm sure it will be back.

Hi Kizzy it's probably just scars off the bite, it'll probably go back to it's original colour after while.

warm regards Susan

Hi Kizzy.
There is hope for your pup.
My GSD got his nose bitten too when he was a pup and had a pink "scar" from the bite.
I was so pleased and relieved when i looked at him one day and realised it had gone, although it did take months before it did, i honestly thought he was going to have it for good.
hth a little
