its just feels like problem after problem!
Luckily saffie has managed to get over her problem with being touched and doesnt move a mussle when the judge goes over her these days. She actually manges to almost blend in with the professionals.
But, we have a new problem. When we went away for the end of july. we left her with some friends she was just comming up to 7 months old, the friends had bourght a new stripping brush and were raving about it. we thought nothing of it. they stripped all her top coat out. now she looks out of coat and maingy. shes not been placed at shows lately. but i dont blame the judges her coat looks horrible.
its been four weeks since it was done and it hasnt grown back yet. she seems to be changing coat a bit maybe, her fur comes out a litttle bit when you stroke her. does this mean shes loosing her coat and growing a new winter one?!
when do you think she will be back in full bloom again?!
Im still going to take her to shows as she needs the experience, its just annoying.. dogs which we were beating are now beating us. theres always something!
i would really appreciate any estimates!
thanks!

This wouldn't be the 'Furminator' would it??
I would think that the coat will grow back in its own time, hopefully growing a new coat for winter will help;) Until then all you can do is feed well, groom regularly and exercise her well, it'll help pass the time ;) it'll seem endless, but one day you'll look at her and her coat will be back.
(and don't let 'friends' groom her - ever again ;) )
lol i dont know what it was, but it sounds pretty lethal. razers in all directions i heard. thanks for the help, hay winters not that long away..maybe.

Personally I would never strip a Beardies top coat out as I find it helps to keep the undercoat lying smoothly. If the dog has a coat that looks too heavy I would clip the top coat up out of the way (with a slide), line by line and strip out a little of the undercoat. I would never use the razor type stripper though there are more gentle ones. I will PM when I find a site that shows them.
