Hi

My 2 year old SBT has had a sudden outbreak of what I can only describe as HIVES.  They are large and raised off her skin, very red and all over her body.  She suffers with skin allergies anyway, but never anything like this.

I took her to my usual vet and they gave her a steroid injection and two week supply of steriod tablets.

After Day 1 she seemed to be getting better, but now Day 3 she seems to be going bad again, she looks terrible, although the vet said it looks worse than it is, I cannot help but worry.

Is there anything that could have caused this sudden outbreak and is there anything I can do to make the dog more comfortable, I will continue with the steroids as told by the vet but I would like to do something as well as this.

I will be taking her back the vet if there is no improvement tomorrow.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

Could it be Harvest Mites? I know little about them, but when my dog had skin problems her breeder mentioned them. (it wasn't Harvest Mites inour case) Hopefully more knowledgable folk will be along soon to help.
