Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Poorly puppy

Hi,
New to this so don't know if this is the correct way to ask a question:  This is the first puppy we have owned.  He is a 10 week old Pyreneam Mountain dog who had his second vacination two days a go.  Today he has Diarrhoea and is very sleepy.  Is this normal or should I be worried ?
Thanks
Kay

Hi Kay
It could be a mild reaction to the vaccine, but don't take any risks with a pup of 10 weeks - get back in touch with your vet, just to check. problem with very young pups is that diarrhoea can very quickly dehydrate them, so it's best to act quickly. If he's only had the one "episode" I wouldln't worry, but if he's going frequently get back to your vet ASAP

Hi Anwen,
Thanks very much for that.  I will keep an eye on him.  I think I am probably being an over anxious mum !

Hi,
Alfie seems back to his normal self now - full of energy.  It's great to see.
Thanks for advice.

Brilliant :D When they're not well, you just long for them to do something awful - like eat the the best chair or steal your tea then you know they're back to normal!
