My friend's bitch has just had to go to the vet to have a grass seed removed from her ear. She is 4 or 5 weeks pregnant I think, and my friend is very worried about her. Are there likely to be any problems, either for the bitch or the puppies? She did tell the vet the bitch was pregnant.

One of my girls is good at getting them, but the vet just takes them out while I wait.  No anaesthetic.  Usually have ear drops for a few days after in case of infection but that's it. 

Apparently they managed with just sedation - my boy had to have the full works when he got them! Hopefully she will be fine then.

She now thinks she can smell a 'dead fish' sort of smell from the bitch and is terrified that the puppies have died inside her - I hope she's wrong. :-(
