With Oscar he keeps playing biteing my face! He grabbed my nose a few days ago, it hurt so much! I almost slapped him to make him let go (but don't worry I didn't). Just when you feel a sudden burst of unexpected pain on your soft wee nose, it makes the mind react. Any idea how to stop this? I can tell its purely play. However that could be quite dangerous if he keeps the habit as he grows up. Also if a child was to pat him and he play bit the face, I don't think parents would be too happy.
when it comes to being held and general play biting of the hands he's got much better. Just this is a tad worrying. The local children want to stroke him but I worry too much to allow them too. However I feel he needs to be touched by children to be used to them. I feel a bit stuck between a rock and a hard place. I know no friends etc. with children and at socialization classes there's no children either. In fact at his "socialization classes" he's not even socialize with the adults.

I wonder if it's because you are looking at him at the time? Making eye to eye contact is quite threatening to a dog, and a puppy may well try leaping at your face to stop it. You could try rewarding him for making eye contact in a controlled way with you by training it and rewarding it. IMHO it's a vital excercise for anyone with a young puppy, as so often children will stare at a puppy and their natural instinct is to either hide if they are naturally submissive, or to attack :(

Oh no i'm not looking at him. He licks me and then play bites in that order. I think its more to get my attention after a long play time, to make me play again. He's rather a demanding little chap. He doesn't look scared at all. :) However I'll watch myself closey just incase I'm doing that sometimes but I really don;t think so.
