Tessa likes traffic too much she try's chasing after it and lies down ready to pounce and will try pouncing and cars going past. She has also tried getting our daughters pram. What on earth can we do to calm her down? Our other collie hates traffic which we can manage but this we don't know what to do. Any idea's?

Is she farmbred/working-bred? If so she's probably got a very high herding instinct (which of course is what collies are bred for in the first place!). I suggest you buy some of the specialist books on how to handle Border collies - and a rescue border collie is likely to need even more careful handling. Good luck.

if shes a BC shes just herding, try to distract her,but to be honest if shes "very" into it it may have developed into a collie obsession & be abit late,id make sure shes on some type of headcollar near all roads so you can turn her head away & remain in control.as you can imagine it could be dangerous, the thing is,THEY think they are moving the traffic on & is self rewarding
I also have a 14 wk old GSD who has exactly the same problem, It is a nightmare just to take him a few yards down the road. I have made him sit outside the front of the bungalow just to watch traffic go by in the hope that he would eventually realise that there is no point in trying to chase it, but to no avail. He is so clever in every other respect but cars are a real nightmare
My yorkie goes for cars mainly when were walking with on coming traffic on our side of the road. He barks and jumps at them as to attack. I try and sit with him with the cars going and hes fine. Its just when they are coming at him. I think its a fear thing tho, not a herding thing like your bcs.
