I know nothing of history but found this interesting:

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.
Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theatre named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theatre and his assassin ran and hid in a
warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Creepy huh?

and Kennedys personal secretary - called Lincoln - advised him not ot go to Dallas
and Lincolns personal secretary - called kennedy - advised him not to go to the theatre

And altho my post above is on this famous coincidences list - which, incidentally, has been around since 1963 - it isnt true.
Kennedys secretary was called Lincoln, but there isnt a record of Lincoln having a secretary called Kennedy.

And Lincoln and Kennedy were regulary advised by various staff not to attend public functions on personal safety grounds.

Also John Wilkes Booth was born in 1838.
Actually, John Wilkes Booth wasnt known as John Wilkes Booth.
He and his father Junius and brother Edwin were all well known actors before the Lincoln assasination. John Wilkes booth was actually billed and known as J.Wilkes Booth or John Booth.

Lee Harvey Oswald wasnt referred to by his full name until *after* the Kennedy assassination because he often faked his name and carried forged documents.
Dallas police thus used his full name for identification purposes.

Booth never "ran from" the theatre and got caught in a warehouse. He left the state of Maryland and entered the state of Virginia by crossing the Potomac River. He was found in a tobacco *shed* 11 days later.

Booth wasnt assassinated. He was shot during capture by a State Trooper called Boston Corbett.

Marilyn Monroe died over a year before Kneedy's assasination.

Oh well I did say I didn't know nothing about history and only found it interesting, not surprising it's not true but maybe i should have researched it a bit before posting!
