hi if a dam had to have a c section would it mean any bitch pups she had would not be able to whelp with out a c section either .or are dogs like people each is different e.g my mum had me normaly but ive had 3 c sections

It depends on the cause of the c-section.  Primary inertia (where the bitch isn't able to deliver the first puppy) MAY but not always be hereditary.  But there are many other reasons where C-section is necessary e.g where a bitch has a long labour and large litter and simply becomes too tired or in the circumstance of a puppy getting stuck.  So in answer to your question it may or may not be hereditary

One of my girls had her first litter normally, second litter she delivered first pup ok then stopped so ended up having a section, she had laboured quite a while and was very tired, so my vet thought it best to deliver the rest by section.  She also said that IF we decided to breed from her again, she should be ok....as long as no problems arose, but I won't risk it again.  Her mum never had any problems with her litters.
