The article the Aggressive Dogs I did not write it yesterday evening, as it is possible to be seen at the foot of the same one, and it seems to me to me that the content follows in its the totality effective.
The last paragraph, between quotes, is an adding of today to my understand pertinent.

THE AGGRESSIVE DOGS

Lately, it has been spoken too much of certain aggressions of dogs to humans in England. The press, the radio, the television of all Europe has made echo of those so lamentable cases. However, if the happened misfortunes to which I talk about have gone beyond in such way is due that the high British policy (or the low, that is never known) was meddler. The sensationalism, that always obeys to interests of one or another sign, is one of the worse scar of our century, and drags to think, without knowledge of cause, to good part of the human mass that, more or less unconsciously, is limited to ramble by most superficial of the reality all.
According to the received information a Pit-Bull Terrier attacks a girl in a park, and two Pit-Bull-Terrier attack a baker. Sad events, of which the dogs do not have any guilt. The fault has their owners. To the parks aggressive dogs cannot be taken. I do not know if the baker was attacked by his own pitbulls, or if, on the contrary, they attacked him at the moment he left the bread in some villa in where the dogs served for guard. Dogs able to attack the humans there are thousands in the world, rendering service of guard, for fortune of their owners. Otherwise the burglars would do all whenever it came to them in desire. And as the thief profession is the social disease most difficult to cure, the non thief do very well in surrounding himself by dogs, because only thus he will be able to live with a minimum of tranquillity.
True is that there are "gentlemen" which they enjoy great mansions and enormous fortunes, that are surrounded by dogs at proof of the most astute thieves, being them the greater thieves of the society, but against those little is possible to be done. The law, to these, more than to persecute sometimes protects them.
The dogs are a cultural product, just like the horses, the hens, the ewes, etc. etc. If the humanity did not exist these domestic animals either they would exist. The canine breeds are as they are because the man has done them such as by means of the selection. There are cattle dogs, hunting dogs, dogs for the guard and defense of the private or state properties. They are also the company breeds, the named pets, that, of course, in other times also had a function.
The named prey dogs are as old as the shepherd dogs. The prey dog has been always an exceptional being who has served to the man millenium after millenium. In the old Mesopotamia already it was used as griping dogs in the big game, in the war as attack dog, in the properties of the state and the social-political dignitaries for the guard. In all the empires, great or small, it was used them in great number.
The humanity has changed and has not changed, in the basic thing we continue like in the most remote times; our vital necessities, our passions, our ambitions of dominion and power continue being the same ones. Our culture does not differ, in essence, of the one of the Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman. We already can be surrounded by machines, books, of university titles, of which we want, our nature is the same one, and therefore we continued needing those dogs that once in a while bite, and in some cases they kill.
The problem is not in the dogs but in the humans. With excessive frequency the stupidity dominates to us. The dogs of guard and defense are not a toy and must be always under control, more if the dog has been trained, and much more of course when it is an animal psychically imbalance, that, like in the human, occurs with enough frequency. Dogs psychically imbalance there are them of any breed. The psychic fragility occurs the same thing in a caniche that in a Great Dane, same in a German Shepherd than in a Pit-Bull-Terrier, or in a Majorero Cattle dog, or in a Presa Canario Dog. Clear that the reaction of a combat dog, like is the Pit-Bull-Terrier, imbalance always will be much more detrimental to the humans that the reaction of caniche toy.
The Pit-Bull-Terrier does not have why to be more dangerous to the humans than the Afghan hound, which happens is if to the first one we put him under an intensive training with the purpose of obtain from him the maximum aggressive reaction we can turn it into a machine to bite all we want, everything depends on towards what or who we direct the obsession that in him we foment. The humans behavior is similar when the circumstances cause it. The Pit-Bull-Terrier is super-equipped in his specialty, that is the fight, just like the milk cow is one super-equipped for the milk production. Did you understand me? What nobody can be allowed is to take wherever to a typical Pit-Bull-Terrier, or a typical German Shepherd, or to a typical Cattle dog, etc. (I mean with strong temperament) like who handle a poodle.

A Pit- Bull-Terrier can be dangerous, but not more than a Majorero Cattle dog, everything depends under what stimulus we have them. There is much irresponsible loose in the world with his dogs of guard and defense (I speak with exceeded knowledge of cause), just like there is much irresponsible loose in the world with a steering wheel in the hands, and with excess of alcohol in the blood. Somebody has stop to think about the amount of people who die in Great Britain year after year due to this type of irresponsible? Clear that for that reason to nobody it is happened to say that there is to sacrifice all the Englishmen, fortunately for them. To somebody it has been happened to say that there is to sacrifice all the English because hundreds of thousand of ignorants and drunkards of that country seed the terror in the European fields of futbol (we leave to a side deads, that have been many) when their favorite equipment plays?

The breeders (professional) of dogs for guard and defense put special care in selecting the units most apt (it mean more balances) for the reproduction. All shy, scared, aggressive unit, is rejected (thus it must be). We must not confuse aggressiveness with courage.
Aggressiveness is synonymous of pathology. Courage and temperament, are synonymous of braveness, temper. What make the individuals when they have an unbalanced dog in their houses? That is the key question. Many follow with their dogs, ones because they are not very conscious that his dog is a mental patient; and others, conscious of the problem due they have consulted a professional (a trainer with experience), or they have reached that conclusion by themselves, stay with them because their feel pity. What is necessary to do with the unbalanced dogs? First, in no case mate them. The puppies inherit the qualities and the defects of their parents. Second, to sleep an ill dog is neither complicated nor expensive.
On the other hand, the dog does not consider that he is going to die. The dog is not conscious of the life or the death. All dog with psychic imbalance is, in power, a social danger. What we cannot do is to eliminate all a canine breed by the simple fact that some that another unit, by disease or irresponsibility of its owner, has attacked a boy, or the baker of the district.
Moral: let us apart in a side the Hitler expositions and continue selecting to our canine breeds the best thing than we know so that the index of unbalanced dogs be every time smaller; and we must not be imprudent with that we take walk to the street, we must think in the others.
