I think my 14 month old Springer is having a Phantom pregnancy. I have only had her for 3 months, I know she has had one before, after her 1st season and its been about 6 weeks since her 2nd season. Ive been reading previous posts about the subject but her behaviour is abit different. She is producing a liitle milk and her stomach looks bigger and she has been nesting. She doesnt have soft toys has as my castrated dog always rips them up so she hasnt found any puppy substitutes, however she hasnt gone off her food, quite the opposite, she constantly searches for food and eats anything she can find, she is also very frisky with my castrated dog & he is very intersted in her. Is this a phantom pregnancy?

It certainly sounds like it - and Springers do tend to be prone to them :( The best way to coax her out of it is to reduce her food quite drastically and increase her excercise, this will tell her body she doesn't have the extra calories to waste providing milk for puppies that don't exist......
