Hi everyone!

I had my dog castrated today, everything went fine, we picked him up earlier, he has a few stitches.

He still has these 2 balls there with stitches in, i was kind of thinking they would be gone! Dont know whether im being thick or not? Just wanted to check with other people who have had their dog done?Is this right that the balls stay there?

Any info would greatly be received.

Cheers

Don't worry, everyone thinks this at first. What you're seeing is the swelling from the surgery. When a dog's castrated the scrotum is left, and shrinks away over time. As the swelling goes down you'll see that the vet's done a proper job, and the scrotum's empty! :)

Have you thought anymore about showing? You can't show Lennon because he has been castrated but what about Lily? I sure things will work out now! Clare

At least if you do show him you will have to advise the KC. Most judges won't place a neutered dog, but I have seen one beat an entire dog so it's not impossible!
